The following are practices for basic heart rhythm meditation. You begin with the posture, and then focus on the breath and finally, feeling for the sensation of your physical heartbeat.
Take a breath or two with your hand placed gently over your heart to calm yourself. You can close your eyes or keep them open. You can be standing, sitting, or lying down.
Now imagine that you are breathing into and out of your heart. Imagine breath flowing in and out of your heart. Breathe slowly, deeply and rhythmically. Enjoy the feeling of nourishing your being with a full and conscious breath.
